On my way to DC today (probably there when this is posted). I chose the train instead of the plane today. The Acela comes into the station like some sleak 1950's sci-fi version of the future of rail travel. The table is a little high for laptop typing but I'm managing. It boasts a sleek ride. Before I looked up I was in Philly.
Actually, I did look up for a moment, when I noticed the sun rising - it lit up a lake with an orange glow, and some geese took that moment to fly across the glowing surface - a nice moment of natural light beauty to brighten my fluorescent existence in the train.
Friday night was the local Brownie and Daisy "daddy-daughter" square dance. Wonderful to see such a large crowd, with a line out the door to get in. I am glad so many of us dads were able to break out of work and spend time with our little girls in a fun activity. Prominade! Circle Left, Circle Right, bow to your partner!

The Onion has a hysterical article.

Brush with fame. Just saw Mike Wallace on the street. Thankfully, he didn't know my name and had no camera crew with him.
Man, is he tan. I'm talking George Hamilton tan. Either he's on permanent vacation or he's got liver failure.
I've taken a bunch of lunar eclipse pictures, listed here.
Update: Thanks to Dave for the link to my (admittedly blury) pictures.
My kids loved going out every five minutes to see if the moon was still there. Harris cried when it was "gone" until we showed him how it would come back (with a flashlight and two rubber balls - yay for science class!).
Our group blog, Correspondences.org, has been off the air for a few days. It was a server crash due to a sun-spot related blackout. Really. (I admit that sounds a lot like "the dog ate my homework.") It's back with all the archives, but the MoveableType software is still not working. Thankfully, some nice folks from Six Apart have some suggestions which I hope will help us get back in business.

Is there anywhere in America you can't "Find Nemo"? In every circular in this weekend's Sunday Paper from Best Buy to Circuit City to CVS, Nemo was on every damn page. On many websites, Nemo or his shark friend are animated and popping off the screen.
I liked the movie. I even pre-ordered it for the kids, since they loved it. Now I'm questioning my purchase - I'm a bit over-nemoed. Perhaps sushi for lunch...
